The first thing that struck me, was the hike in the price of the Chapattis... Wow! - £1.50 for just the one! Desi Roti in Doncaster town centre charge a mere 50p !
With Naans at £2.50 and up to £3.50 for a "speciality", it's obvious that they'd rather you order rice from the big pot that sits in the corner of the kitchen. All they have to do with rice is bang it in the microwave for 20 seconds or so... with the breads, they are much more labour intensive and hard work.
I lost interest after this.
The Mixed Kebab Starter (3/5) was ok. The samosa was weak, and i guess bought in. The sheekh kebab wasn't spicy enough for my liking. The onion bhaji was the best of the three.
The Mixed Bhaji Starter (4/5) was scored a tad higher than the MK by Old Ironguts.
The Chicken Biryani (3/5) could have done with a wee bit less rice and a tad more chicken and sauce. The Chicken Balti (4/5) was reported as being fine.
Breadgate means that I doubt if I will return here for a while.

Bhaji's and Kebabs were of excellent quality, freshly made and very enjoyable - but of SYIR spice levels.
The Methi and Saag were well done, no complaints there.
I've never seen so much meat in a Keema Naan! One of these and a sauce would nearly be a meal in itself. The Plain Naan was ok, we have had better elsewhere - and the size was a little on the smaller side.
Chips, I hear you chuckle. Yes, we shared a portion of chips; though upon finishing the meal, we both agreed that we didn't need the extra carbs. We quite liked the chips, they had a similarity to those at KFC, though nowhere near as salty.

Ashoka Maurya (304–232 BCE), commonly known as Ashoka and also as Ashoka the Great, was an Indian emperor of the Maurya Dynasty from circa 269 BCE to 232 BCE.
The only niggles were:

Old Ironguts selected Tarka Dahl as a starter and and his Lamb Dopiaza were accompanied by a Pilau Rice and a Kulcha Nan. A contented, nodding, smiling face beamed: "5 stars!"
The Greyhound went for - Mixed Vegetables, Tandoori Chicken and Plain Rice. I think he was slightly disappointed with the main dish and rated the restaurant as three stars.
The only niggles were:
- The bill stated the Chapatti's were £1.10 each; the menu said 90p.
- The Plain Nan was listed as £2.90 on the menu. When I queried if it was a misprint, the waiter said that he could do it for £2.50.
- No traditional Indian desserts - just the usual suspects from "Central Supplies" (tropical-ices.co.uk)
Typical desserts, as found in many South Yorkshire Indian restaurants.
The Sportsman at Armthorpe was our watering hole for this trip. They had 3 hand pulled real ales on, each selling at £2.86.
