They provided us with a round of complimentary poppadoms and sauces... not a bad start.
The Onion Bhaji (2/5) was pretty uninspiring, as was the Cambodianesque Sheekh Kebabs (2/5). I've never seen such thin kebabs. Two of our party went for the same Masala Fish (2/5) starter. One of them left one piece of fish as it was pinkish and looked undercooked at best. Luckily, it belonged to Old Ironguts, and, he lives to tell the tale.
The Chicken Biryani (3/5) was expensive and the sauce was far too dry and not enough of. The Mixed Vegetable Curry (2/5) was a bit below acceptable, too many cheap carrots bulking the dish out. The Fish Curry (3/5) was ok, with a very piquant sauce. The Chicken Balti (3/5) was also ok.
The Vegetable Pillau Rice was a little disappointing at £3.00
The stand out breads here are the Chapattis - they were excellent.
Having only fairly recently opened, there seems an air of desperation about the place.
