Mon to Sun: 5:30pm to Late
"Spice Wars… and we lost!"
Date of Visit: Thursday 04/12/14 - 6:00pm
Oh well… at least I know how to spell CINNAMON!
This morning, I sit feeling a little miffed over last nights visit to Cinamon.
I have just opened the menu that the owner / head waiter gave me as we departed the restaurant and inside is a leaflet advertising their Sunday & Thursday special offers.
Lat night, for £10.95, we could have had:
Any starter.
Main course - anything from the menu.
Any side dish (shared between two).
Any sundry
Coffee
What makes this an even more bitter pill to swallow, is the fact that I have a voucher for a free main course… which I forgot to take with me :-(
Deceit and underhandedness do not sit favourably and have backfired on them!
Last night, despite one or three incidences of annoyance, I was looking upon the restaurant quite favourably and I was going to award it 4 stars.
However, this morning, and following the discovery that I mentioned above; I am afraid that my enthusiasm for this establishment has dulled.
Yes; the food was good… but, if they are running an offer, then for me, they have a moral obligation to inform all patrons of that deal.
With an outlook like this, it is no surprise that there was only one other table occupied (2 people) during our visit. Maybe the people of Swinton are wise to their ways and are even prepared to turn their backs on what appears to be a good special offer!
For the record:
Bhindi Bhaji (as a starter) £2.50
Saag Paneer (as a starter) £2.50
Chicken Methi £5.50
Chicken Dopiaza £5.50
Naan £2.10
Pilau Rice £2.10

Our pre-meal watering hole on this occasion was The Imperial Brewery Tap at Mexborough. Pete (the money man) and his 2 sons (we met Ben last night) were holding their opening evening with a beer festival which runs from Thursday 4th through to Sunday 7th December.
Ben has big plans for this little place. It would be Bad Manners (one of the bands that he is lining up to play the gaff) to not believe him. The best of luck to Pete, Ben and his brother with their latest venture (they already have a couple of other pubs / clubs.
A pint of Imperial Stout, which is brewed on the premises cost a paltry £2.00.
